Wawa's Thank You'

Praises police, employees after splash-and-grab robberies

WAWA, Pa. -- Wawa Inc. placed a thank you letter in the form of an advertisement in The Philadelphia Inquirer praising law enforcement and its store employees after arrests were made connected to the recent splash-and-grab robbery spree.

Two men were arrested for robbery and aggravated assault last Friday, accused of holding up a convenience store by throwing a 24-oz. cup of hot coffee on the clerk and then taking a drawer from a cash register on February 12 in Voorhees, N.J., said the Associated Press.

A third man was arrested [image-nocss] yesterday, added AP. Authorities are exploring whether any of the men may have been involved in a string of similar robberies in February at more than a dozen Philadelphia-area c-stores, including 12 stores operated by 7-Eleven, six stores operated by Wawa and one store operated by Lukoil.

Wawa and 7-Eleven offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction, added a report by The Delaware County Times.
