7-Eleven Offering 49-Cent Slurpees Memorial Day Weekend

Introducing Slurpee Lite Sugar Free Sprite, other flavors during #AWESUMMER

LOS ANGELES -- 7-Eleven Inc. is launching the 2013 Slurpee season with the introduction of its newest Slurpee Lite flavor, Slurpee Lite Sugar Free Sprite, and 49-cent medium Slurpee drinks every day this Memorial Day Weekend (Friday, May 24 through Monday, May 27).It is also launching a promotion called #AWESUMMER.

Typically, the retailer keeps limited-release Slurpee flavors top secret until they become available in the stores, but "to make summer #AWESUMMER," it is announcing them now:

  • Slurpee Lite Sugar Free Sprite and Slurpee Fanta Oddball Orange, May 18 through June 23.
  • Slurpee Lite Sugar Free Fanta Mango Lemonade and Slurpee Fanta Strawberry Lemonshade, June 24 through Sept. 3.

And 7-Eleven will be making summer #AWESUMMER for anyone who downloads the 7-Eleven app to their smartphone (available via the App Store or Google Play). The app will supply guests with coupons for free merchandise every week all summer long toward exclusive offers like free Slurpee drinks and free Snickers Ice Cream Bars.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, May 23, 7-Eleven will feature a celebrity kickoff event in support of Slurpee Summer Days.

Dallas-based 7-Eleven operates, franchises or licenses more than 10,000 7-Eleven stores in North America. It has approximately 50,000 stores in 16 countries. During 2011, 7-Eleven stores generated total worldwide sales of nearly $76.6 billion.
