IFMA Introduces Foodservice Insights Portal

Designed to help operators create new business plans and understand trends

CHICAGO — The International Foodservice Manufacturers Association has launched IFMA Scope, an online portal that provides foodservice manufacturers with strategic data and insights.

IFMA Scope offers three interactive tools for foodservice research and planning: Operator Landscape, Go-to-Market Model and Consumer Food Journey, all of which explore market trends, industry changes and consumer shifts. The portal aims to help foodservice operators better understand their business and create new business plans, the IFMA said.

"The launch of IFMA Scope and the Consumer Food Journey signal a new era in the way IFMA serves its member community," said Larry Oberkfell, president and CEO of the IFMA. "IFMA Scope offers our membership a complete view of the foodservice landscape, providing them with access to strategic data, insights and go-to-market tools in one easy-to-use online portal."

The Consumer Food Journey provides insights on how consumers make food and beverage choices. The tool contains research results from more than 15,000 consumers discussing their food habits during a 12-month period. The data sets will be updated regularly on the portal.

"The amount of insights available at our fingertips through this new portal is something that is unprecedented in our industry," said Perry Miele, president of Nestle Professional North America and the 2020 IFMA chairman. "This tool is another example of the tremendous value that IFMA returns to its members."

Based in Chicago, the IFMA is a trade association composed of food, equipment and supply manufacturers as well as marketing service organizations, trade publications, distributors and brokers in the foodservice industry. The association provides its members various tools that are fundamental to their business assessment, planning and execution.
