Cumberland Farms Carving Out More Charitable Territory

Retailer raises funds for public library youth programs

CARVER, Mass. -- Cumberland Farms is sponsoring a fundraiser to benefit the Carver (Mass.) Public Library and its youth reading programs. For four weeks, beginning August 14, Cumberland Farms will donate 20 cents from every Chill Zone beverage, iced tea and coffee (iced or hot) purchased at its newly remodeled store in Carver to benefit the library's "readalongs" and activities for toddlers to young adults.

Cumberland Farms plans to raise at least $1,000 for the library.

"Here at the Carver Public Library, we take great pride in helping to develop the next generation of avid readers," said Carole Julius, director of the library. "While our Youth Services department is very active, we need the resources to keep it dynamic and growing. This support from Cumberland Farms will be a great help to the children of our community and to our efforts to foster a love of reading for kids of all ages."

"We are proud to be a member of the Carver community and very pleased to be partnering with the Carver Public Library," said Ari Haseotes, president of the Cumberland Farms Retail Division. "This is a great way for Cumberland Farms to make a difference for kids and families here in town, and fits perfectly with our mission to support the communities we serve."

Over the past year, Cumberland Farms has donated more than $100,000 to support local organizations across the Northeast.

Cumberland Farms employees, along with youth, families and staff from the Carver Public Library will hold a kickoff fundraiser celebration on August 14 at the North Carver store location.
