Jiffy Mart Helps Raise Funds for St. Jude's

Retailer raises more than $4,000 with boot campaign
WESTMINSTER, Md. -- During the month of February, Jiffy Mart convenience store locations in Carroll County, Md., participated in a campaign to help "Boot Childhood Cancer" for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. This is the chain's third year participating; it raised over $3,600.00 in 2009.

Customers were able to purchase a boot symbol for $1, sign it and have it hung at the location where it was purchased. The goal at each store participating was to raise $771.00, the cost for one day of chemotherapy for a child.

Each Jiffy Mart store proudly exceeded their [image-nocss] fund raising goal, and Jiffy Marts corporate team and its employees contributed an additional check for $500, collectively contributing $4,097.04 directly to St. Jude's Research Hospital.

Because of generous donations such as these, no family at St. Jude's ever pays for treatments not covered by insurance, and families without insurance are never asked to pay. Their mission is to find cures for children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases through research and treatment, and St. Jude has treated children from all 50 states and from around the world.

Jiffy Mart's general manager, Tom Moser, was interviewed on air by radio personality Laurie DeYoung on March 4 and said, "Jiffy Mart is quite involved in the community and enjoys being a good neighbor. Both the Jiffy Mart employees and the community stepped up because St. Jude's Hospital is such a worthy cause."
