Loaf 'N Jug, Smith's Food & Drug Team Up on Rewards Program

Wyoming, Montana customers can use points for fuel, grocery savings
PUEBLO, Colo. -- Loaf 'N Jug convenience stores and Smith's Food & Drug Stores have announced the launch of the Smith's rewards card program in many Wyoming and Montana areas. The rewards card allows customers at both store formats to accumulate one point per dollar spent inside the stores on foodservice, snacks, groceries and most nonfood items.

Accumulated rewards points may then be redeemed in two different ways. First, customers can "save today" by using points for up to $1 per gallon fuel savings at Loaf 'N Jug stores or Smith's Fuel Centers. Or customers may "save [image-nocss] later" when rewards points not redeemed on fuel at the end of each quarter will be converted into cash-back checks mailed to rewards card customers' homes.

"We are excited to deliver more value added savings for our customer with the Smith's new rewards program," said Arthur Stawski, president of Loaf 'N Jug. "Customers can now save up to $1 per gallon on fuel at a Loaf 'N Jug store or a Smith's Fuel Center, or save more money than ever through cash-back certificates and valuable coupons at a Smith's grocery store. What a deal! Whether customers decide to save today or at the end of the quarter, it's makes their shopping experience even more valuable."

Every 100 point accumulation may be redeemed for a discount of 10 cents per gallon up to $1 (35-gallon limit per transaction) at Loaf 'N Jug or Smith's simply by scanning Smith's rewards card or by manually entering their card alternate ID, which will initiate the fuel savings. And customers will continue to receive their 3 cent savings everyday at a Loaf 'N Jug store by simply using their Smith's rewards cards.

Smith's new rewards card provides savings on hundreds of items within the Smith's stores and also delivers more personalized savings through special coupons included with cash-back rewards checks whereby 500 points earns a $5 reward certificate. Customers may expect to receive their personal gold rewards mailings four times each year: August, November, February and May. At this time rewards checks may only be spent at Smith's but future plans will allow customers to use rewards checks at any Loaf 'N Jug store as well.

Smith's Fresh Values card holders must turn in their current card for a rewards card to be eligible for points applied to fuel discounts and rebate checks. They may exchange their card inside participating Loaf 'N Jug or Smith's store.

Smith's is a division of the Kroger Co., the nation's largest traditional retail grocer. From its offices in Salt Lake City, the company managers 132 food and drug stores and 71 fuel centers throughout seven western states.

Loaf 'N Jug, headquartered in Pueblo, Colo., is one of five convenience store divisions operated by the Kroger Co. Currently Loaf 'N Jug has 178 stores in Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Oklahoma and New Mexico.
