Ricky John, a former Sunoco LP fuel executive, has joined the Parker's convenience-store chain in Savannah, Georgia, as vice president of fuel.
He brings more than 20 years of experience in oil and gas distribution, petroleum products trading, supply chain logistics and strategic transformational change management to Parker’s, the company said Friday. As director of sales and business development at Sunoco, he oversaw its national expansion and commercial support functions for fuel distribution, which involved about 8 billion gallons of fuel distributed annually in 36 states.
John also previously served as manager of wholesale marketing, retail fuel supply and products trading at Murphy Oil USA and in fuel trading for Nidera Energy US, Flying J and ConocoPhillips, Parker’s said.
In an announcement, Parker’s Founder Greg Parker called John “a people-first leader and a highly experienced fuels professional who can help us continue to grow our corporate footprint.”
Parker’s is growing strategically in the Southeast, including in Augusta, Georgia, a new market for the convenience-store chain with 76 locations in Georgia and South Carolina. It has announced plans to open several Augusta, Georgia, locations, with the first one at a former Popeye’s restaurant site at Windsor Spring Road and Tobacco Road scheduled to open in 2024.
