Giant Eagle has promoted Terri Micklin to executive vice president and president of GetGo, the supermarket retailer’s convenience-store chain. The promotion is among several changes in leadership, including at the top, at Giant Eagle.

With more than two decades of retail, fuel and convenience industry expertise, Micklin recently served as senior vice president of development and strategy for GetGo. She will lead GetGo's ongoing growth and expansion, while prioritizing its food-first approach and “guest-obsessed” culture.

Micklin’s career includes experience with ExxonMobil Corp., Irving, Texas, and more than 20 years with Wawa Inc., Wawa, Pennsylvania, where she spearheaded numerous construction initiatives, including new stores, remodels and other significant projects.

  • Giant Eagle’s GetGo Café + Market is No. 31 onCSP’s 2023 Top 202ranking of convenience-store chains by store count.

Pittsburgh-based Giant Eagle, founded in 1931, has more than 470 Giant Eagle, Market District and Giant Eagle Pharmacy locations throughout western Pennsylvania, north central Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland and Indiana. It owns and operates more than 260 GetGo c-stores, many with WetGo car washes, in five states.

On Tuesday, the company elevated Bill Artman to CEO. Artman, who has spent nearly 40 years with the regional grocer, became interim CEO in March following the departure of longtime CEO Laura Karet, who joined the board of convenience retailer Arko Corp., Richmond, Virginia,

During his time with Giant Eagle, Artman has served as president of supermarkets and executive vice president and senior vice president of retail operations.

“Bill already has made a tremendous impact in his interim role, giving the board confidence that he is the right leader to take Giant Eagle to new heights,” Board Chairman Bart Friedman said. “Over the past five months, Bill has established a new business strategy and assembled a strong executive leadership team comprised of an accomplished group of professionals with decades of relevant experience who have both a keen understanding of the company’s unique standing as a multi-format retailer and a strong vision for its future.”
