Urban grocer and convenience-store retailer Go Grocer last week opened its second Wisconsin store in downtown Milwaukee. The 2,400-square-foot store is on the street level at 926 W. Juneau in Milwaukee’s Brewery District.

The Chicago-based retailer focuses on grocery essentials, freshly made grab-and-go items, locally sourced products and alcohol products.

Go Grocer offers a variety of Wisconsin-made products including Milwaukee’s very own BB Cakes, Purple Door Ice Cream, New Glarus Brewing Co., as well as a variety of other local craft beers and Midwest products.

By partnering up with local vendors and introducing consumers to new items, Go Grocer continues to add new brands to its shelves.

“We’re not a 7-Eleven, but rather a mini Trader Joe’s,” Edgar Rivera, who operates and owns the store, told CSP. Rivera and his brother John last year opened Go Grocer’s first Milwaukee location in the Third Ward at 415 E Menomonee St., which he says is doing “amazing.”

Go Grocer also offers a variety of gluten free, keto and vegan products and believes it is important to “offer a variety for our customers,” said Rivera.

Go Grocer started in 2008, founded by brothers Greg and Paul Stellatos. The retailer now operates more than 12 locations throughout the Windy City. The Rivera and Stellatos brothers have known each other since grade school.

“We still play soccer together,” Rivera told CSP.

Go Grocer is planning growth outside the Midwest as well. Paul Stellatos recently told CSP it wrapped up a lease for its first Fort Lauderdale, Florida, location.
