Rutter’s has once again won the annual CSP Intouch Insight Mystery Shop, which is given to the convenience-store chain with the best customer experience. This achievement marks the fourth time in six years that Rutter’s has claimed this title, awarded by CSP, Winsight Media’s industry-leading news and information source and event organizer.

“We are incredibly proud to be recognized as the winner of the CSP Insight Mystery Shop for the fourth time,” said Jere Matthews, Rutter’s vice president of operations. “This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, who consistently go above and beyond to exceed our customers’ expectations.”

Rutter’s comprehensive training programs, combined with its investment in new technology, have enabled the retailer to consistently provide a seamless and enjoyable shopping experience for its customers, it said.

Rutter’s is No. 82 on CSP’s 2023 Top 202 list of the largest U.S. c-store chains by number of company-owned locations. A privately held chain of c-stores based in York, Pennsylvania, Rutter’s operates 85 locations in Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia. It is part of a family-managed group of companies, the Rutter’s Cos., which along with the c-stores includes a dairy and beverage company and a real estate company. With roots dating back to 1747, Rutter’s 276-year history makes it the oldest vertically integrated food company in the United States, it said.
