Sheetz For the Kidz raised more than $1.7 million for children in need in 2023, including $807,328 in December. The employee-driven charity from convenience-store chain Sheetz was created in 1992.

“Each and every year, we are blown away by our customers who always exceed our expectations. Our customers continue to bring hope and joy to thousands of children across our footprint during the holiday season,” said Brittany Funcheon, Sheetz For the Kidz executive director.

During July and December, Sheetz customers could donate at check-out through donation boxes or by adding donations on to their purchase. The funds support local children in need with clothes, toys and more through the Sheetz For the Kidz Holiday Program, in partnership with The Salvation Army. Each of Sheetz’s 710-plus stores supported 16 children from their local communities, for a total of more than 11,500 children this holiday season.

  • Sheetz is No. 12 on CSP’s 2023 Top 202 ranking of U.S. convenience-store chains by company-owned store count.

Sheetz For the Kidz has also partnered with Make-A-Wish to sponsor the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions and Feeding America to provide food to children in need.

Customers can support Sheetz For the Kids throughout the year by donating loyalty points through the Sheetz app or donating online at sheetzforthekidz.org.

Sheetz For the Kidz is a non-profit organization, independent of the Sheetz Corp. To date, the charity has impacted more than 170,000 children living in the communities Sheetz serves, the company said.

Altoona, Pennsylvania-based Sheetz has more than 710 convenience stores. While its primary footprint has long been in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and North Carolina, in the past year, Sheetz has announced its first store coming to Michigan, and outlined aggressive new-store growth for western Pennsylvania and Ohio.
