Tri Star Energy cut the ribbon today on its seventh Twice Daily and White Bison Coffee store in Alabama, with a commitment to continue to grow in the state. The new store is the second Twice Daily location in the city of Athens, Alabama.

The 5,000-square-foot convenience store is stocked with Twice Daily’s premium offerings of grab-and-go snacks, including organic brands, and a selection of staple groceries. A fresh deli case provides handmade and healthy options featuring fruits, sandwiches, salads and snacks. Additional offerings include doughnuts and pastries, freshly prepared breakfast and lunch sandwiches, and a beer cave featuring local and craft beers.

To celebrate the new location, Tri Star Energy presented a $1,500 check to House of Harvest, a locally owned and operated food bank.

“We are overjoyed to bring another Twice Daily and White Bison Coffee experience to the Athens community and get the opportunity to give back to a deserving cause,” said Steve Hostetter, CEO of Tri Star Energy. “We’re expanding our Twice Daily brand throughout Alabama, and we are excited to continue providing the highest quality of services and offerings to guests visiting us throughout sweet home Alabama.”

Nashville, Tennessee-based Tri Star Energy first entered Alabama in 2019. In 2021, it acquired 13 Southern Traders convenience stores from Abbeville, Alabama-based Herndon Oil Co. Earlier this year, Tri Star Energy initiated a three-year plan to rebrand the Southern Traders stores to the Twice Daily retail brand, underscoring the retailer's plan to grow in the state.

  • With 162 c-stores, Tri Star Energy ranked No. 52 on CSP's 2023 Top 202 list of the largest chains in the country.

At the new Athens, Alabama, site, the White Bison Coffee concept offers expertly roasted, handcrafted specialty coffee drinks featuring drip coffee, single-origin pour-over coffees, cold brew, nitro coffee, hot and cold espresso beverages, seasonal drinks and more, according to the company. Guests can also enjoy freshly baked pastries and handmade breakfast and lunch items, including sandwiches, salads and Bistro snack boxes.

Nashville, Tennessee-based Tri Star Energy owns and operates Twice Daily, Sudden Service, Southern Traders, Little General and Maverick Quick Shop convenience stores and supplies fuel to wholesale trade channels in 17 states. The company also owns premium coffee brand White Bison Coffee, including 15 locations in the Middle Tennessee area and four locations in the North Alabama market.
