Tyson Foodservice is launching three new products it says will help operators including convenience stores meet back-of-house challenges and diverse consumer tastes.

“Building on the legacy of the popular Tyson Honey Stung Bone-In Chicken products, Tyson Foodservice introduces boneless tenderloins (top right) in two new flavor profiles: Original Honey and Hot Honey,” the Springdale, Arkansas-based company said.

The pairing of honey and chicken is a favorite among consumers, with hot honey flavor profiles witnessing 40% growth in the last 12 months and 111% growth in the last four years, said Tyson, citing Datassential statistics.

“Crafted with over three decades of expertise, Tyson Honey Stung Tenderloins are made with real honey and boast an authentic taste experience, from light, crispy breading to juicy, delicious whole muscle chicken,” Tyson said. “Operators can now serve a growing customer favorite without creating a sticky mess in the kitchen or on the plate.”

Next, under the Jimmy Dean brand, Tyson Foodservice is introducing Fully Cooked Chicken Breakfast Sausage, a range of chicken breakfast sausage products (bottom right) available in links and patties, including low-sodium options.

According to Datassential’s 2023 New Foundations in Health report, 57% of consumers prefer low-sodium options, Tyson said, adding that a 2022 breakfast study from CSP sister research arm Technomic reported a growing emphasis on nutritious breakfast choices.

These products have 60% less fat than USDA fully cooked pork sausage, Tyson said.

Finally, there’s a new addition to the Tyson Red Label product line, the Fully Cooked Authentically Crispy Bone-in Chicken Wing Sections (left).

“These bone-in chicken wing sections feature a proprietary breading process that ensures a supercrispy exterior, maintaining crunchiness for up to 30 minutes even when sauced,” Tyson said.

The wings are available in original or spicy flavors.
