Foodservice Handbook 2018: Operator Outlook

C-store retailers show the most optimism for sales improvements

CHICAGO -- A majority of retail, noncommercial and restaurant operators are optimistic and content with their current business, with 73% saying they expect foodservice sales to improve in the next year.

In the retail sector, 93% of c-store operators expect their foodservice sales to grow, vs. 91% of grocery operators.

And despite consumers gravitating more toward healthful drinks such as bottled water and low-sugar juices, retail operators still see fountain soft drinks as a vehicle for growth.
