Gulf Makes Allied a Preferred Vendor

Parts Portal expanded to Gulf jobbers, dealers, distributors
FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- Gulf Oil LP has awarded preferred vendor status to Bristol, Pa.-based Allied Electronics for Allied's online store called Parts Portal. Designed exclusively for Gulf dealers, Parts Portal can save them up to 40% on key items necessary for running their businesses, the company said.

Allied and Gulf will expand the program from 300 assured dealer locations to 1,300 Gulf Oil jobbers, dealers and distributors. The discounted prices are offered exclusively to those dealers participating in the preferred vendor program. Since there are a large number of dealers [image-nocss] participating, there are significant costs savings and discounts derived from their combined buying power, Allied added.

Two years ago, the Wholesale Petroleum Division of Cumberland Farms Inc. rolled out its preferred vendor program, which was designed to help dealers lower operating costs by offering discounted pricing on products and services vital to their business. At the time, CFI chose Allied Electronics for its E-Store, which carries parts from all of the major dispenser manufacturers in addition to receipt paper and ribbons, intercom systems and more.
