SAN FRANCISCO — DoorDash launched DashPass for Students, a discounted membership available to undergraduate and graduate students at accredited colleges and universities in the United States. The $4.99 per month membership includes on-demand delivery from eligible convenience stores, restaurants, grocery and other retailers.

“Access to convenient, fast and affordable ways to get everything you need is key for busy students on the go,” said Kofi Amoo-Gottfried, chief marketing officer at DoorDash. “With the launch of DashPass for Students, we’re excited to change the game for students with a plan that’s designed specifically for them and provides access to everything from late night study snacks and grocery items to school supplies and dorm essentials.”

DashPass for Students is half the price of a standard monthly membership and includes unlimited free deliveries on eligible orders over the minimum subtotals and 10% off order subtotals year-round from reduced service fees. Some restaurants allow DashPass members to gain back 5% credits on pickup orders. The membership also features exclusive promotions and menu items.

According to a survey conducted for DoorDash by Wakefield Research, 70% of college students order food from a third-party delivery platform per week, ordering four times per week on average. When it comes to convenience stores, snacks are the most ordered items, at 89%. Electrolyte drinks, ibuprofen and condoms are among the other most popular items that college students order for delivery.

For a limited time, all DashPass members have access to Buffalo Wild Wings’ new Doritos Flamin’ Hot Nacho Wings. The wings are tossed in Doritos Flamin’ Hot Nacho flavored sauce and topped with Doritos Flamin’ Hot Nacho chip crumbs.

“We’re excited to bring the Doritos and Buffalo Wild Wings collaboration back to fans with a new Flamin’ Hot Nacho Flavored Sauce that’s sure to take our exciting partnership to another level,” said Caio Correa, senior director of marketing at Frito-Lay. “Our fans know that Flamin’ Hot is more than just a flavor, it’s an attitude. Now, they get to embrace that attitude and experience Flamin’ Hot Nacho in a whole new way when they’re enjoying their favorite wings.”

DoorDash, based in San Francisco, also offers an Annual Student Plan, which costs $48 a year.
