7-Eleven, Walgreens Join Shipt

Deals represent 12,750 stores, the most added to the delivery network at one time

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — 7-Eleven Inc. has partnered with Shipt. Customers now have access to a variety of snacks, drinks and household essentials from 7-Eleven via the same-day delivery service.

Walgreens has also joined Shipt, providing access to over-the-counter medications (OTC), beauty, personal care, household and convenience products.

The two new companies boost the number of store locations available on Shipt’s marketplace by more than 40% and now has a diverse collection of more than 140 retail partnerships, it said. The agreements represent the most stores ever added to Shipt’s marketplace at one time. It includes approximately 6,450 7-Eleven convenience stores and more than 6,300 Walgreens drug stores. Since 2020, Shipt has tripled its network of shoppers and doubled its retail partners. And in 2021, Shipt had its largest service area expansion in three years, adding nearly 1,000 more store locations and more than two million households to its coverage area. Its delivery service is available to 80% of households in more than 5,000 U.S. cities, according to Shipt.

7-Eleven become Instacart’s first c-store partner in 2020 and added Uber Eats and Grubhub to its delivery roster in 2020. Other delivery services that offer 7-Eleven products include Postmates, DoorDash, Google Food Order, and Favor (only in Texas).

A curated marketplace of retailers, Shipt offers access to a variety of stores and product categories including fresh foods, household essentials, wellness products, office and pet supplies. The Birmingham, Ala.-based company is an independently operated, wholly owned subsidiary of Target Corp., Minneapolis.

Deerfield, Ill.-based Walgreens operates nearly 9,000 retail drug stores across America, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

7–Eleven, based in Irving, Texas, operates, franchises or licenses more than 77,700 stores in 19 countries and regions, including about 9,500 in the United States under the 7-Eleven banner, about 3,800 under the Speedway banner and about 500 under the Stripes flag, as well as the Laredo Taco Company and Raise the Roost Chicken and Biscuits brands.
