LA PORTE, Ind. — Red Vines, part of the American Licorice Co., is hosting a contest to name its new mascot in honor of National Licorice Day.
“There are few things more exciting than seeing the creativity of our loyal candy fans,” said Kristi Shafer, vice president of marketing for American Licorice Co. “While Red Vines has been around for over a hundred years, we're always looking for innovative ways to celebrate, and National Licorice Day couldn't be more perfect!”
Beginning on April 4 and running through April 12, votes for the new mascot name can be submitted on the American Licorice Co.’s social media or on the Red Vine’s website. Then, from April 22 to April 30, the top five mascot names will go live for voting. The winner will be revealed on May 6.
All participants will receive 25% off for voting on the website. The winner will receive a one-year supply of free candy.
Red Vines also has limited-edition merchandise, and customers will receive a 5-ounce tray of Red Vines with all American Licorice Co. website orders through April.
