NACUFS names 2007 Best in the Business winners

OKEMOS, Mich. -- The National Association of College & University Food Services (NACUFS) has announced the winners in the sixth annual NACUFS Best in the Business campus c-store contest:

The recipients will be featured in a presentation at the Neighborhood Market: The Campus C-Store workshop, receive a commemorative plaque and one complimentary registration to the workshop at the association's 49th National Conference in Seattle, July 10-11.

The winners are:

Product Mix: SUNY at Stony Brook (Seawolves Marketplace). Marketing: [image-nocss] Michigan State University (Sparty's). Layout & Design: Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (Campus Market). Food Applications: The University of San Francisco (Outtakes Cafe & Convenience Store). The Big IdeaCustomer Service Innovations: Vanderbilt University (Nectar).

This year, for the first time, NACUFS recognized the following schools for their contributions by awarding them with NACUFS Best in the Business Honorable Mention. They will be awarded a certificate of achievement at the NACUFS National Pre-Conference in Seattle:

Bowling Green State University John Hopkins University University of Alabama University of Arizona University of Michigan University of North Carolina at Greensboro

Winning C-stores are featured in a DVD showing what they did that made them the Best in the Business and how they accomplished their goals.

Open to all institutional members of NACUFS, the competition was designed to recognize leadership in product mix, marketing, layout and design, food applications and customer service innovations. Best in the Business provides a virtual tour of facilities along with interactive educational activities.
