Circle K Sticks With FuelQuest

Updates new sites with Fuel Management System

HOUSTON -- FuelQuest Inc., an on-demand software and services company for the downstream energy industry, announced its Fuel Management System (FMS) has been deployed at an additional 90 Circle K locations. Following Circle K's recent acquisition of Spectrum Stores, this leading convenience-store operator turned to FuelQuest to quickly standardize these stores on the FMS platform.

For several years FMS has been Circle K's nationwide fuel management standard for more than 2,000 Circle K stores. FuelQuest promptly added the additional 90 locations [image-nocss] without the retailer absorbing additional overhead or administration.

For growth companies such as Alimentation Couche-Tard (Circle K's parent company), it is critical to quickly link new locations into FuelQuest's system and assure fuel is supplied when and where it is needed, said Scott Cilento, vice president of operations for FuelQuest, Houston. Circle K has a rich history of being an industry innovator and this implementation provides unprecedented operational transparency and productivity gains that can scale with the company as it expands.

Once data from each site was added, it took FuelQuest Professional Services less than two hours to implement its solution and bring the new stores online to optimize fuel delivery and inventory.

This was the first time Circle K added stores using a batch process, Cilento said. Circle K's internal team was instrumental in the FMS deployment and ensured a smooth transition with no disruption to the company's operations.

FMS currently tracks inventory levels to deliver real-time insights into Circle K's dispatch capabilities along with inventory and transportation management. The immediate turnaround of this implementation demonstrates the scalability and flexibility of the FMS module for companies that are growing organically or via acquisition.

With FuelQuest, we have enjoyed a seamless transition in bringing these additional locations online, and we remain committed to streamlining the process even further in the future," said Paul Melgaard, national fuel director for Circle K. The FMS solution delivers transparency into our fuel category and enables us to integrate multiple business processes as we strive to enhance each customer's Circle K shopping experience.
