Retailer donates $1,000, coffee, more for Martha's Vineyard's Last Night, First Day

CANTON, Mass. -- Cumberland Farms presented a $1,000 donation to the Tisbury Ambulance in support of Martha's Vineyard's Last Night, First Day New Years celebration. The celebration is focused on family as the central theme and features the CrAzY ZaNy Hat Parade, a children's matinee at the Katherine Cornell Theater, music, dancing, arts and crafts, miniature golf and ice skating.

Cumberland Farms will also provide free hot chocolate, coffee, cappuccino and tea to strollers of all ages throughout the evening.

For adults, there [image-nocss] are dinner gatherings, musical venues and a harbor cruise. The Last Night will also feature the largest ever New Year's Eve fireworks celebration, the company said.

The Volunteer Ambulance Association is a not for profit group. The money used for fundraising goes back into the community and is used in various ways to promote programs to the schools and school-age children.

Cumberland Farms operates a network of retail stores, gas stations and a support system including petroleum, dairy and grocery distribution operations that spans 11 states across the Northeast and Florida, making it the largest convenience store/petroleum marketer in the Northeast, it said.

Through its Corporate Giving Program for Youth, Canton, Mass.-based Cumberland Farms is working to improve the prospects for young people, to encourage and support young people's achievements in business and leadership, and to provide educational opportunities for young people. It sponsors 4-H, the Muscular Dystrophy Association and Making Strides for Breast Cancer and provides college scholarships.
