Hardy Flowers Cultivates Retail C-Store Advisory Group

Tedeschi, 7-Eleven, White Hen execs helping program grow

NORWELL, Mass. -- The Hardy Flower Co. said that during the past 12 months, it has expanded from six to 24 the number of retailers offering Hardy Flowers. And Hardy Flowers has we created a leadership team made up of five convenience store executives who are helping to shape the company's offering.

The flowers are featured in Eastern Massachusetts convenience stores; in Boston, on the North Shore, in Fall River and on the South Coast and Cape Cod.

We couldn't have done it if we hadn't matured the product line and built a framework [image-nocss] for the program. It's a business that's working well because it works; it's easy, stress-free and fun to build a clientele for great flowers, said Tom Hardy, president of the Norwell, Mass.-based company. This is not all about an impulse buy anymore. People go to these stores to buy their everyday flowers.

He added, We have two sites each now in Newburyport, Marblehead, Saugus and Fall River, Mass. This is going to be the fourth year for our Fall River stores and the third for Osterville, Mass.

Hardy said, In addition, we created a leadership team made up of five c-store owners and managers who are helping shape the product line and services we provide as we grow. All matters such as delivery of product, type of product, pricing, margins, quality and so forth get reviewed and talked about. These are smart business people who know what it takes to build a successful brand and meet their customer needs. They see value in Hardy Flowers and want to help promote the program and bring in additional sites. With more sites everyone benefits.

The Hardy Flowers leadership group is represented by c-tores in Belmont, Marblehead, Mattapoisett, Saugus and West Harwich, Mass., including Tedeschi Food Shops, 7-Eleven and White Hen Pantry.
