New Debit Rewards Card Debuts

Targets high credit card fees, low fuel margins

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- DCR Strategies Inc., licensor of TruCash, a stored-value coalition loyalty rewards program, has introduced what it said is the first client-branded debit rewards card specifically designed for the convenience store/petroleum sector.

Based on Cirrus, Maestro and banking rails, the new card uss existing client point-of-sale (POS) hardware and has the ability to offer loyal customers a discount off in-store purchases or fuel at any level of client affordability. Discounts are accumulated and stored on the debit card which can be used [image-nocss] for future purchases at the client's c-store locations.

Increased consumer use of debit cards with their low transaction fees, coupled with very tight margins, especially at the pump, motivated the development of a card that rewards the mobile consumer, said George Benson, vice president of TruCash.

Diana Fletcher, president of DCR Strategies, said, It is simple, customized to client branding and budgets and will save the industry millions in credit card processing fees, while retaining and rewarding customers for using debit to buy gas and in-store products.

Fort Myers, Fla.-based DCR Strategies, authorized user and licensee of TruCash, is a privately owned relationship marketing company. The company provides loyalty, stored value, payroll and gift card solutions for B2B and B2C applications.
