New Moniker, Same Acronym

MPSI Systems Inc. changes name to Market Planning Solutions Inc.

TULSA, Okla. -- MPSI Systems Inc. said that it has changed its corporate name to Market Planning Solutions Inc. The name change is effective immediately, and all future business activity will be undertaken with the new name.

The firm has adopted its new name in part as a statement of how its product and service offerings are evolving. The name MPSI Systems Inc. has historically been associated with a technology business primarily offering location management software systems, and in that scenario, the term Systems' has worked well for us, said James [image-nocss] Auten, president and CEO. However, we are now increasingly involved in more consultative and advisory services, and we wish to heighten that perception among our customer base as we move into the future. We believe our new name makes us immediately recognizable as a Solutions' company.

Along with the corporate name change, the company has also adopted a new website address, www.mpsisolutions.com.

While the corporate name has changed, other core elements of the organization will remain the same. Auten said that in addition to its growing advisory services role with customers, the company will continue to provide consumer modeling technology and market information services. Also remaining unchanged are the company's corporate logo design and the MPSI acronym, which is most often used to identify the company.

As we begin to penetrate new geographies and work with new, broader classes of consumer-oriented clients, our personnel are asked more and more frequently about the meaning of the MPSI acronym, said Auten. Our new name will provide a simple, yet descriptive answer to that questionan answer that immediately positions the company as a solutions provider.

Tulsa, Okla.-based MPSI is a global provider of decision support solutions for site evaluation, network optimization and product pricing. Its products and services are designed to meet the site and market planning needs of businesses having convenience-oriented locations.
