PDI Acquires Three Leading Software Companies

Deal expands technology provider's reach to six continents

TEMPLE, Texas -- On the heels of acquiring the enterprise resource planning (ERP) assets of The Pinnacle Corp., PDI, a global provider of software solutions to the convenience retail and wholesale petroleum industries, has acquired three privately owned companies—DataMax Group Inc., Lomosoft, and FireStream WorldWide Inc.

The acquisition will accelerate the company’s growth and expand its footprint around the globe into six continents. The acquisition of DataMax and Lomosoft are consistent with the company’s strategy to grow internationally and provide customers with a single, integrated solution in the countries they serve. The broadening of PDI’s solution portfolio will enable operators, regardless of operating model or size, to use PDI’s software portfolio, delivery and service.

In addition to the company’s expansion into new territory, PDI will also strengthen and broaden its software solutions portfolio with the addition of a comprehensive fuel wholesale offering, including supply chain and logistics management.

PDI recently announced a record year of growth in 2016, which the company attributed to a combination of new software customers, strategic acquisitions and add-on product adoption among its existing customer base.

“PDI is investing in a global footprint to expand its market reach. We are well-positioned to continue to lead the industry as well as better serve multi-country operators, various operating models such as dealer, franchisee, and corporate, and going further up the fuel supply chain,” said Jimmy Frangis, chief executive officer, PDI. “We feel the complementary nature of these businesses brings tremendous benefits to our existing client and employee base. We are excited to add DataMax, Lomosoft and FireStream, and their innovative software technologies and expertise to PDI as we continue to invest and execute upon our strategy. As always, our highest priority is serving our customers and creating solutions that will help transform their business and the industry.”

Whether a customer is large or small, wholesale or retail, rural or global, PDI will now be able to provide a seamless and scalable experience across the fuel supply chain, both upstream and downstream. PDI will also add additional portfolio offerings from FireStream focused on wholesale/logistics with supply chain planning and mobile computing. Now, over 650 companies around the world will partner with PDI for a full breadth of software solutions and services.

“All three companies PDI has acquired today have established a leadership presence in their market for more than 20 years. The coming together of these organizations, along with the breadth of the portfolio, creates a robust and comprehensive ERP fuel and logistics solution offering that complements and expands PDI’s existing services and software portfolio—bringing unmatched experience to the industry,” said Frangis. “With the addition of these three new companies, we have a global footprint that scales, a comprehensive software portfolio to help customers thrive, momentum to accelerate our long-term growth and vision to become the global leader of enterprise software for the convenience retail and wholesale fuel market.”

PDI, based in Temple, Texas, provides enterprise software and solutions to the leading convenience retailers and wholesale petroleum marketers. Over 650 companies operating more than 50,000 locations worldwide rely on PDI’s software for retail automation, business intelligence, financial reporting, workforce management and end-to-end fuel supply chain.

The company purchased the ERP assets of The Pinnacle Corp., Arlington, Texas, in January, signifying PDI's goal of "solidifying the company’s commitment to innovating, growing and looking for opportunities that create value and make a difference for PDI’s customers, partners and employees,” Frangis said at the time.
