Radiant, PDI Solution Committed at More Than 1,000 Sites

Uses PCATS-NAXML to link applications

ATLANTA --Radiant Systems Inc. and Professional Datasolutions Inc. have announced that leading retailers in the convenience industry have committed to use Radiant Point-of-Sale and the PDI/RMS back office interfaced with one another at more than 1,000 stores.

When we chose a new store solution, support for industry standards was critical amongst the solution providers we looked at, said Scott Hartman, president and CEO of Rutter's Farm Stores, York, Pa., the most recent retailer to sign on as a customer of both companies. The proven [image-nocss] success of the Radiant-PDI PCATS-NAXML interface was a key factor in our decision to install the companies' software.

First installed in 2005, the Radiant-PDI solution uses the PCATS-NAXML interface to link the two applications. By utilizing an industry-standard interface, the companies are able to maximize future flexibility for retailers and speed the deployment of an end-to-end point-of-sale and back office solution.

The technology standards project has been a long-term commitment for PDI, said Greg Gilkerson, president of the Temple, Texas-based backoffice provider. The success our PCATS-NAXML interface with Radiant is experiencing in the marketplace shows that the industry is embracing providers that are able to support standards.

By utilizing open standards, retailers are able to deploy best-in-breed applications faster and with less effort than in the past, said Mark Schoen, president of Radiant's global petroleum and convenience retail division. Reaching the 1,000-site milestone with our PDI relationship shows the success of providing retailers with multiple options for their technology decisions.

Atlanta-based Radiant Systems provides technology to the hospitality and retail industries. Its hardware and software products have been deployed in more than 60,000 sites across more than 100 countries.

PDI delivers enterprise-wide software and services that meet convenience store and wholesale petroleum marketers' specialized needs. More than 300 companies worldwide rely on PDI's systems to automate key business processes.
