YORK, Pa. -- Steve Slyder is the fourth and final winner in Rutter's Farm Stores' Fuel Up Free! gasoline giveaway, the company announced. Slyder and the others won free gas for three yearsthe prizes collectively worth $25,823.25.
Slyder, who lives in York Township, York County, estimated that he entered the giveaway 20 times, each one at Rutter's store there.
The three previous winners, all from York County, were Mary Wherley of Wrightsville, Jennifer Anderson of Newberry Township and Chad Marsteller of Shrewsbury.
Fuel Up Free! ran from May 28 to August 26. Each week, Rutter's offered food or beverage specials. With each purchase of a special, customers received an entry blank. The more specials customers purchased, the more chances they had to win. New for 2007, customers also could obtain an entry blank by showing an M&T Bank ATM receipt to a Rutter's clerk. Rutter's offers no-surcharge M&T ATMs in each of its stores.
Aquafina, Ben & Jerry's, Canada Dry, Edy's Grand Ice Cream, Haagen-Dazs, Kunzler, M&T Bank, Monster Energy, Nestle Waters, Pepsi-Cola, Propel, Red Bull, Rutter's Dairy, S&D Coffee, 7UP and Snapple were participating sponsors.
Family-owned and third-generation managed, York, Pa.-based Rutter's operates 51 convenience stores in York, Adams, Cumberland, Franklin and Lancaster counties.
