Network launches clerk-assisted payments program

BURNABY, B.C. -- TIO Networks Corp., formerly Info Touch Technologies Corp., has begun processing payments through TIO Express, its new clerk-assisted payments program.

TIO Express enables retailers to accept cash payments for multiple billing partners through a web-based application or through the retailer's own point-of-sale (POS) system. Retail clerks can assist customers to access their accounts and view balances without the need of having account numbers present. Once the payment is made, TIO Express registers and records the transaction.

TIO Express is the newest addition to our distribution channel which includes self-serve kiosks and Bi-Directional Cash ATMs, said Hamed Shahbazi, chairman and CEO of TIO Networks Corp. Retail locations that cannot support a self-serve kiosk or hybrid ATM-based payment program can accept payments through TIO Express, at a fraction of the deployment cost. TIO Express dramatically increases our ability to deliver our suite of nonbanked financial services to a wider variety of retail locations and rapidly expand the TIO footprint across the United States. Biller partners on the TIO Network benefit from a much greater distribution channel and customers enjoy the convenience of additional payment locations.

TIO Networks is building a national multi-retailer network of financial services kiosks for the cash-preferred consumer marketplace in North America, with more than 800 locations and six top-tier corporate-owned convenience store chains participating. Clients include Circle K, ExxonMobil, Cingular Wireless, Speedway SuperAmerica, Cricket Communications, COX Communications, Memphis Light Gas & Water, Nashville Electric Service and Qwest Communications.
