LAS VEGAS and VANCOUVER, B.C. — TAAT Global Alternatives Inc.’s tobacco- and nicotine-free cigarettes are rolling out at more than 150 convenience stores through a partnership with wholesale distributor H.T. Hackney.

TAAT will soon be available in Par Mar Stores in West Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania including c-stores in gas stations under national banners such as Amoco, BP, Shell and Sunoco, the Las Vegas and Vancouver, B.C.-based company said.

“We are very happy about the first placement of TAAT in Par Mar Stores and the associated order of more than 1,000 cartons as an initial delivery,” said Setti Coscarella, CEO of TAAT. “Through Par Mar Stores, TAAT will be introduced to the state of West Virginia for the first time, which we see as a key strategic market for TAAT as a nicotine-free and tobacco-free alternative to tobacco cigarettes.”

TAAT expects to be on shelves in Par Mar Stores by Dec. 15. TAAT and H.T. Hackney are coordinating in-store activation strategies with an objective of converting smokers aged 21 and up from purchasing tobacco cigarettes to purchasing TAAT’s nicotine- and tobacco-free options.

TAAT comes in Original, Smooth and Menthol varieties. Its base material is Beyond Tobacco, a proprietary blend that undergoes a patent-pending refinement technique causing it to smell and taste like tobacco, according to the company.

H.T. Hackney, Knoxville, Tenn., serves more than 20,000 retail customers and stocks more than 25,000 products.
