Pilot Co. sources its coffee from farms in Colombia, Indonesia and elsewhere, putting the product through a rigorous tasting process called cupping that identifies 110 different coffee qualities to bring the best blends to its stores, the company says. Its eight custom-created blends can be found only in its stores. Many also carry certifications such as USDA Organic and Rain Forest Alliance Certified.
The Knoxville, Tenn.-based company’s coffee is roasted in Texas, and its bean-to-cup machines mean each cup is brewed fresh and can be brewed hot or cold. There also are traditional drip machines, which brew fresh coffee hourly. There also is cold brew, specialty cappuccinos, hot chocolate and seasonal flavors and creams at Pilot and Flying J travel centers across North America.
Through Pilot’s myRewards loyalty program, customers get each 10th coffee drink free. Pilot Co., which recently changed its name from Pilot Flying J, also offers limited-time offers, such as Vanilla Cold Brew and Pumpkin Maple Cappuccino.
