Seattle-based coffee giant Starbucks added a growing menu of plant-based options in 2020. It opened a location in Seattle that has a 100% plant-based menu. The company also has been increasingly innovative with its food to sell more items to accompany coffee and tea purchases.
It launched oatmilk nationally and also has been promoting more nondairy beverages, such as Honey Almondmilk Cold Brew and Honey Almondmilk Flat White, in the last year.
In March, Starbucks unveiled a line of Nondairy Iced Shaken Espresso beverages and Oatly oatmilk, as well as Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso and Iced Chocolate Almondmilk Shaken Espresso. Its new Odyssey blend, weaving together coffees from Rwanda, Peru and West Java, features notes of tangerine zest and wild honey and is tied to the sustainability movement, the company says.
