From mobile order-ahead capabilities to in-store mobile payment and an app-based rewards program, Wawa has had consumer-facing technology in its arsenal for years.

But Wawa is most notable recently for its forays into electric power, be it for a vehicle or a store. Wawa doubled down on Tesla electric vehicle Superchargers last year when it announced plans to add the car chargers at 16 locations over the subsequent two years, which will eventually bring the amount of stores with Tesla Superchargers to 32.

The Wawa, Pa.-based retailer is also adding solar panels to power more than 90 sites in New Jersey. Solar energy system provider SolareAmerica plans to build 93 solar installations at Wawa sites by the end of 2020.
