E. & J. Gallo Winery has awarded Republic National Distributing Co. (RNDC) its retail chain distribution business in California, according to RNDC.

This deal adds to the general market retail distribution business that RNDC took over in 2021.

“We are thrilled to be Gallo’s distributor in California,” said Bob Hendrickson, chief operating officer of Republic National Distributing Co., Grand Prairie, Texas. “Our successful partnership and route-to-market capabilities have been key in making this next phase of our relationship happen.”

Ted Seburn, vice president of sales for Modesto, California-based E. & J. Gallo Winery, said, “RNDC has been a great distributor for Gallo brands nationally, and we look forward to expanding our relationship with them as we transition our chain business in California.”

The transition is effective March 1.

With its national reach, beverage alcohol distributor Republic National Distributing Co. helps suppliers by building strategic relationships with on- and off-premise customers to elevate their brands and reach their target consumers. It operates in the District of Columbia and 38 states.

Brothers Ernest and Julio Gallo launched E. & J. Gallo Winery in Modesto, California, on Sept. 22, 1933.
