Liquid Ice to Service Alliance Energy, Hess, 7-Eleven Sites

Two deals covering 217 locations for three chains include coffee, fountain, frozen beverage, ice maintenance

HARTFORD, Conn. -- Liquid Ice Inc. has signed new service agreements with FM Facility Maintenance to service 7-Eleven and ExxonMobil locations in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. In a separate agreement, Liquid Ice will service Hess Corp. locations in western Massachusetts. The agreements began in August and September 2011, respectively.

FM Facility Maintenance has designated Liquid Ice as its primary service provider for 115 Alliance Energy LLC and 69 7-Eleven locations that it manages. The agreement covers Alliance Energy's company-operated sites and for 7-Eleven locations in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont and Maine. For Alliance Energy locations, the agreement covers service for coffee brewers, icemakers, soda fountains and frozen beverage equipment. For 7-Eleven locations, the agreement covers only coffee brewing equipment.

Separately, Hess contracted Liquid Ice for 33 locations in western Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire. The agreement covers coffee, soda fountain, and icemaker equipment.

"These developments solidify Liquid Ice's position as the leading independent provider of dispensed beverage repair services in New England," said Liquid Ice president Al Del Re. "We now participate in contracts with four of the five largest convenience store chains in our operating area and will be building on this success to further improve our offerings."

In a related development, Liquid Ice has announced the appointment of Bill Lyons as vice president of operations. Lyons brings nearly two decades of manufacturing, supply chain and quality experience to the position, having held various supply chain management and operations positions at national companies.

Most recently, he served as supply chain and demand planning manager at Nypro Inc., Clinton, Mass., and has held senior positions at Hewlett Packard and Biz2Net.

FM Facility Maintenance is a leading provider of facility management for clients with multisite locations in the United States in more than 40 trades. It manages more than 30,000 customer locations nationwide, representing more than one million service requests annually. Based in Hartford, Conn., the company is privately held.

Liquid Ice is a family-owned business founded in 1998 and located in Northboro, Mass. It is a leading provider of dispensed beverage maintenance services for coffee, soda fountain, beer, frozen beverage, milkshake equipment and icemakers. The company sells a full line of frozen beverage syrups, cups, lids, straws and frozen beverage dispensing equipment to foodservice and retail locations. Best-selling products include frozen carbonated beverage mixes such as Blue Raspberry Frost and Wild Cherry Ice, and a line of frozen cocktail mixes. The company serves more than 1,000 locations in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Maine, Vermont, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Waltham, Mass.-based Alliance Energy is one of the largest petroleum marketing distributors in New England. Alliance has been providing quality products and services to its customers since 1985. Alliance distributes gasoline and diesel through a network of company owned gasoline stations and convenience stores as well as a network of independently owned stations. We distribute fuel through approximately 500 locations in seven U.S. states from Maine to Pennsylvania. Alliance distributes a variety of gasoline brands, which include, Exxon, Mobil, Sunoco, Shell, CITGO and Gulf. Alliance also offers unbranded fuel under the Global flag.

7-Eleven, Dallas, operates, franchises or licenses more than 8,800 7-Eleven stores in North America. Globally, there are approximately 42,700 7-Eleven stores in 16 countries. During 2010, 7-Eleven stores worldwide generated total sales close to $63 billion.
