Parker's Rolls Back PumpPal Gas Price By 10 Cents Through Yearend

Special holiday "thank you" to customers; also donates to schools, more

SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Convenience retailer Parker's has officially rolled back gasoline prices for PumpPal members by 10 cents at all 27 Parker's locations in Georgia and South Carolina through the end of the year as a special "thank you" to customers. The 10-cent club price discount is effective immediately and is available through midnight on December 31.

"We're proud to be the area's gas leader and are leading the way by offering this early holiday gift to our loyal PumpPal members," said Greg Parker, president and CEO of Parker's. "At Parker's we understand that money can be especially tight as we approach the holiday season. We hope this discount makes life a little bit easier for our customers."

The company's PumpPal club, which has nearly 57,000 members throughout Georgia and South Carolina, has saved customers $2 million since the program first launched in February of 2011. Customers can pick up a free PumpPal card at any Parker's location and sign up online at www.PumpPalClub.com.

Parker's currently operates 27 convenience stores across the region and sells Parker's proprietary brand gasoline. The company said that it plans to open additional locations in Chatham, Liberty, Effingham, Bulloch, Jasper and Beaufort counties within the next year. Its newest location in Garden City is set to open later this month. A new c-store in Rincon will open in December 2012.

In other company news, Savannah, Ga.-based Parker's is the corporate sponsor of the City of Savannah's Picnic in the Park, which takes place on Sunday, October 7. The event will feature a full afternoon and evening of live music, family activities and cultural entertainment.

Also, Parker's presented a check for $3,000 to Effingham County Public Schools on October 3 as part of the company's Fueling the Community program. The donation is part of a $20,000 charitable contribution Parker's is making this month to area schools in Georgia and South Carolina.

Parker's donates one cent of every gallon of gasoline purchased at all of its stores on the first Wednesday of the month to community schools through the Fueling the Community program. The company's charitable initiative officially launched in the fall of 2011 and has donated money to public and private schools in every community where Parker's does business.

And Parker's recently presented an iPad to Kathy Morgan of Guyton, Ga., the winner of the Parker's September Text to Win Contest.

Morgan entered the contest after reading about it on the Parker's Facebook page. The monthly contest, which offers rotating prizes and merchandise, encourages customers to text a specific number to enter the giveaway.

"This is just one of many ways we want to reward our customers for their loyalty," said Parker. "We truly appreciate our customers and love finding creative ways to give back to express our gratitude."

Parker's operates 27 convenience stores located in six counties throughout southeast Georgia and South Carolina selling Parker's proprietary brand gasoline.
