
Convenience-store retailers looking to boost sales should take a look at what’s trending on TikTok.
A story from CSP sister publication Winsight Grocery Business reports that the route shoppers take to making purchases is increasingly being influenced by social media trends, according to Aldi’s fifth-annual Fan Favorites list.
Aldi shoppers voted “for their top picks from a wide variety of Aldi-exclusive items,” WGB reported. “But this year’s survey results noted that it’s not the weekly flyer that’s mostly piquing interest in buying certain products—it’s TikTok.”
Cottage cheese and low-sugar Greek yogurt captured the top spots in their categories on Aldi’s list this year.
“Cottage cheese sales at Aldi spiked more than 14% during this protein powerhouse's viral TikTok run,” the discount grocer said in a statement.
