Starting as a dairy back in 1921, Rutter’s has evolved its beverage offerings while honoring its homegrown roots. Today the York, Pa.-based chain also makes 15 varieties of iced tea, available by the gallon, half-gallon, quart, pint and half-pint. Behind the counter, Rutter’s also serves handcrafted espresso drinks, smoothies and shakes, some of which are made with local ingredients. For guests in need of a pick-me-up, the chain offers Red Bull Smoothies.

Last year, Rutter’s rocketed into the alcohol space after Pennsylvania loosened its liquor laws. The brand added walk-in beer caves featuring craft, domestic and imported beers and ciders. Just outside the beer cave, some stores also began stocking wine. To hype up the new additions, Rutter’s partnered with E. & J. Gallo Winery to host wine and food pairings.

Expanding the chain’s visibility, Rutter’s became the exclusive provider of bottled teas, juices and milk for PeoplesBank Park, where pro baseball team the York Revolution play.
