Koupon Media Takes Top-Tier Spot in Inc. 5000

Mobile coupon technology provider achieves great revenue growth

ADDISON, Texas -- Koupon Media, a mobile offer platform and network, earned the 406th spot on the 35th annual Inc. 500 list, which ranks the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. The Inc. 500 list represents the top tier of the broader Inc. 5000 list.

The award recognition follows three years of nearly 1,000% revenue growth, the Addison, Texas-based technology provider said.

“We’re honored to be featured as a mobile technology leader,” said Bill Ogle, CEO of Koupon Media. “Mobile has fundamentally redefined how businesses interact with their consumers, and we’re proud to lead the charge. Today’s acknowledgement provides an incredible validation of Koupon Media’s dominance in the quickly rising mobile couponing market.”

The average company on the list achieved a three-year growth of 433%. The Inc. 5000’s aggregate revenue is $200 billion, and the companies on the list collectively generated 640,000 jobs in the past three years.

The 2016 Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2012 to 2015. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2012. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of Dec. 31, 2015. The minimum revenue required for 2012 is $100,000; the minimum for 2015 is $2 million.

The only fuel company to make the 2016 list was Newark, Calif.-based National Petroleum at No. 2,918. Its business includes the sale and supply of gasoline products to independent gas stations in the San Francisco Bay area as well as management of several franchised and nonfranchised gas stations and convenience stores. Its brands include Chevron, Shell, 76, Arco, Valero and Tesoro, as well as c-store chains such as 7-Eleven.

Atlas Oil Co., Taylor, Mich.; Hightowers Petroleum Co., Franklin, Ohio; Kum & Go, West Des Moines, Iowa; Lehigh Gas (now CrossAmerica), Allentown, Pa.; Lightning Quick Gas N Go, Adrian, Mich.; Parker’s, Savannah, Ga.; Plaid Pantry, Beaverton, Ore.; and Superior Petroleum, Pittsburgh, have earned spots on the list in previous years.

Koupon Media’s platform powers mobile offers for more than 43,000 retail locations and the world’s largest CPG brands, delivering more than 500 million offers since its founding. In 2015, the Koupon Platform drove more than 10 million store trips leading to $100 million in value for brands and retailers, the company said.
