Conexxus Announces Lineup for 2022 Annual Conference

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Conexxus, an organization dedicated to technology standards in the convenience-store and retail-fueling industry, will share the latest advancements in these and highlight how businesses can adapt and evolve to meet them during its in-person 2022 Annual Conference. The conference will take place at Loews Ventana Canyon in Tucson, Ariz., from May 1 to May 5.

The event will include an opening VIP panel discussion titled Convenience/Energy Retail Market in 2030: The Forward Back Thinking moderated by Executive Director Gray Taylor and featuring retailer Varish Goyal of Loop Neighborhood Stores and an Altria Group executive. The group will delve into key challenges that are increasing technology debt in the industry and ways that Conexxus and others are eliminating the barriers to world-class technology in c-stores so that the industry can be prepared for the future, the organization said.

Other education sessions will include:

  • Understanding Consumer Data in a Volatile World, featuring Dafna Gabel of PDI Software.
  • Connecting the Customer From the Forecourt to the Metaverse, with Kristen Call of Intel.
  • Blockchain in Practice—Cases for Convenience Stores, with Pat Santos of Han Santos.
  • Accelerating Innovation in C-Stores With Edge Computing, featuring Phil Stead of Acumera Inc.
  • Think Tank v.5.0—IT Leaders Insights, with Amy Wood of Friendly Express, Roy Austin of Parkland USA, Brad Miller of Coen Oil, Robert Hampton of Jackson’s and consultant Ed Collupy.
  • Digital Lessons C-Stores Can Learn from Restaurants, featuring Brendon Gilbert of Dutch Bros Coffee, Doug New of Nouria Energy and Mike Maxwell of bounteous+Hathway.
  • Keynote speaker Ira Blumenthal on Your Best Is Next.
  • Back to the Future: QSR Technology That Needs to Be Integrated Into Convenience Retail, with Blumenthal.

In addition to these education sessions, attendees will also be able to participate in working meetings with industry partners to discuss the details of technology advancements within the industry. The ideas shared in these sessions and meetings will have wide-ranging benefits for all IT, operations and marketing team members in attendance, who are responsible for technology related business processes in their organizations, Conexxus said. Attendees do not need to be Conexxus members to attend.
