TEMPLE, Texas — Retail management company StrasGlobal, a contract operator of 26 convenience stores across six states, has positioned its Compliance Safe document control software as a tool to help retailers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In early March, StrasGlobal created and shared with the c-store industry a comprehensive, tactical COVID-19 Response Plan to communicate procedures that retailers can quickly implement to protect the health of their teams and customers. In May, the company launched online ordering and curbside delivery at the c-stores it operates.

“There is no doubt that new sanitation and health safety regulations will soon be established as a result of COVID-19,” said Roy Strasburger, president of Temple, Texas-based StrasGlobal.

The software manages the permit, license and certification renewal process against expirations that cause disruption in operations, loss of time and revenue, the company said. Compliance Safe is a division of StrasGlobal, which developed the software in 2015 as a proprietary compliance management tool and introduced the product to the c-store industry in 2019.

With the disruption COVID-19 has caused to both businesses and government services, licenses and certification renewals can fall through the cracks, and Compliance Safe provides automated reminders to keep retailers up to date, the company said.

Many regulatory agencies and jurisdictions have been closed and renewal notices are not being received or issued during this COVID-19 crisis, said Chloe Noonan, StrasGlobal permits and licenses coordinator. “All our permits and licenses were already filed in Compliance Safe with their renewal dates, so we can proactively manage compliance for all our sites instead of waiting to hear from regulatory field offices in the weeks and months ahead.”

Cloud storage of all compliance materials provides authorized employees secure electronic access to documents necessary to provide proof of compliance, the company said.

With dispersed staffs working from home or on unexpected leave, the Compliance Safe platform “facilitates 24/7 access to documents for any needed automated communication with suppliers, vendors, regulatory inspectors and financial institutions,” said Gerry Gabel, Compliance Safe business development director.

The company is offering a 30-day free trial of Compliance Safe, it said.
