WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. -- Taking mobile app technology up the supply chain, distributor Liberty USA has unveiled its new mobile app that lets the company push the latest news or limited-time offers to all of its convenience-store customers.
The distributor-branded app, called Smart Promo, is accessible via Android and iPhone devices, has a 30-day deployment timeframe and requires no technology integration.
“Smart Promo is an economical way to improve communication with customers and add value to our existing services,” said Gary McGuirk Jr., Liberty USA president. “What’s more, we presented [our provider] with tight implementation deadlines and they worked hard to help our launch be successful.”
With the app, distributors can push notifications to alert customers of limited-time offers or vendor-sponsored values. Retailers can choose what type of promotions they receive and place orders for their stores directly from the app. In addition, retailers can provide instant feedback to Liberty, which can then respond in real-time, as well as monitor ongoing order activity with the platform’s analytics capabilities.
“Every Liberty USA customer now has access to new items and other time-sensitive information, which offers them tremendous sales and marketing opportunities,” said Carson Kuehne, chief innovations officer for Verge Retail, the firm that provides the platform.
Liberty USA, based in West Mifflin, Pa, is a family- and employee-owned wholesale distributing company for the convenience-store industry. The McGuirk family founded the business in 1959.
