Steal This Idea: 1 + 1 = Better Than 2

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. Reese’s had it right with its classic “Two great tastes that taste great together” slogan, and it remains a powerful strategy when blending the right two flavors.

Take Chipotle Mexican Grill, which has selected a smoked brisket it introduced nationwide in September and paired it with another recent menu addition, a quesadilla it launched in March.

The Newport Beach, Calif.-based fast casual chain is featuring a limited-time offer (LTO) through Halloween of the Quesabrisket. The entrée is a brisket-stuffed cheese quesadilla served with queso blanco, tomatillo-red chili salsa and, on the side, tomatillo-green chili salsa.

Chipotle suggests diners try the LTO with its latest “menu hack,” created by mixing the queso with the red chili salsa directly in the entree’s packaging.

The chain called the dish a balance of smoky, sweet and heat, and previously said the smoked brisket was one of its most requested items.
