CHICAGO — Laffy Taffy has launched its new Laff Bites Tropical flavor in time for its Pass the Laff campaign during Teacher Appreciation Week, May 2-6.

“Our newest flavor innovation comes as consumers seek unique flavors beyond traditional fruit,” said Dave Foldes, marketing director of Laffy Taffy at Ferrara Candy Factory. “Tropical varieties are trending and desired year-round, and the innovative bite-size form of poppable Laff Bites has allowed us to provide fans with a way to enjoy these new flavors across many occasions, including on-the-go eating.”

The new bite-sized candy features a tropical flavor center wrapped in a hard candy shell. They are available nationwide in three sizes.

  • 2-ounce single pegs with a suggested retail price of $1.29.
  • 3-ounce pegs with a suggested retail price of $1.39.
  • 6-ounce pegs with a suggested retail price of $2.69.

Chicago-based Laffy Taffy is celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week with its Pass the Laff campaign, in which teachers can win a care package containing the new Laff Bites product. Each day, May 2-6, the first 100 teachers who submit their favorite joke and register online will receive a care package. Teachers can enter themselves, and students and parents can also submit nominations. Each winner will also be entered to win a grand prize of $5,000 to use for a vacation to a tropical destination.

“We’re excited to officially launch Laff Bites Tropical in a meaningful way that allows us to share thanks and warm, tropical laughs with deserving teachers across the country,” said Foldes. “Laffy Taffy is all about spreading joy and laughs, something we have in common with America’s funniest teachers. They will be among the first to enjoy this new taste of the tropics and we hope it will inspire more laughs in the classroom and beyond.”

Laff Bites are also available in Gone Bananas, a bag including only banana flavored bites as well as assorted bags containing Cherry, Strawberry, Green Apple and Blue Raspberry flavors.

Chicago-based Ferrara is a Ferrero Group company. Its portfolio includes nearly 35 brands, including SweeTarts, Laffy Taffy, Trolli, Brach’s, Black Forest, Nerds and more.
