McDonald’s has offered McGriddle, English muffin and biscuit breakfast sandwiches for decades, but any protein used in the preparation has always been either bacon or sausage. Yet the global chain leader has been testing poultry in a few markets over the past year, topping those sandwich carriers with breaded, all-white chicken.
The Chicken McGriddle, with its play of sweet against savory, has proven to be particularly popular in its test markets. McDonald’s released this spring the Chicken McGriddle as an LTO in many stores nationwide. It’s priced at $1.99 on the all-day breakfast menu.
