Bounteous Hires Vice President of Business Development

New addition tasked with growing company's presence in convenience-store industry

CHICAGO — Bounteous has brought on Abbey Karel as vice president of business development for convenience retailing. Karel has been tasked with growing the digital innovation company's presence in the convenience-store industry.

“Convenience customers are looking for more from their brands from a digital capacity,” said Kevin Rice, executive vice president at Bounteous. “As this industry looks to advance, we’re primed to help them along their digital transformation, ultimately offering a better experience for their customers. Abbey has the real-world experience and foresight to help us partner with the c-store industry in unique and new ways.”

Prior to Bounteous, Karel worked with Bottle Rocket, an Ogilvy Co., and was an Ogilvy Top 25 Global Client Leader. With a background in mobile product management in retail, she steered Kohl’s and JCPenney’s native applications and in-store digital strategies.

Karel’s hire marks another step by Bounteous to grow in the convenience-store industry. Bounteous acquired Hathway in November 2021 to grow its restaurant and c-store client portfolio. The company’s roster of clients includes Domino’s, Shake Shack and Wawa.
