Thirsting for Innovation

What’s the main reason consumers don’t buy coffee, a fountain drink or any other dispensed beverage at their local c-store? They don’t know any better. More than one-third of consumers who never buy a nonalcohol beverage from a c-store say it is because they just don’t think of the channel as an option, according to the 2019 Thirsting for Innovation Report, conducted exclusively for CSP by its sister research firm, Technomic Inc., Chicago.

CSP and Technomic surveyed 1,000 consumers ages 16 and older who visit c-stores at least once every two to three months about their experiences, expectations and desires regarding foodservice beverages. The resulting report explores consumer attitudes, purchase drivers, innovative offerings and customization strategies to help answer a lingering question: How can c-stores be a top destination for foodservice beverages?
