SEATTLE —Jones Soda Co., known for its bottled craft sodas, is partnering with convenience-store retailer 7-Eleven for a unique Slurpee flavor.

Jones Birthday Cake flavored soda will be available as a Slurpee frozen drink in participating 7-Eleven stores across the Pacific Northwest through August, the Seattle-based company announced.

The Birthday Cake flavor soda, and now Slurpee, has a buttery vanilla flavor, reminiscent of yellow cake, Jones Soda said. It was recently relaunched in bottles as a 25th anniversary limited-edition item.

7-Eleven is also celebrating a milestone in July for its 94th birthday. It will drop one free small Slurpee drink coupon into the accounts of all 7Rewards loyalty app members in July that they can use to get a Jones Birthday Cake Slurpee drink.

“The Jones Birthday Cake Slurpee drink is the latest in a series of collaborations we’ve had with 7-Eleven over the years and is a tribute to the ongoing appeal of our distinctive soda flavors,” said Mark Murray, president and CEO of Jones Soda. “We look forward to continuing to work with 7-Eleven on projects that provide awesome experiences for customers.”

Jones is working on building sales of its fountain concentrate syrups, as well as expanding its footprint in the c-store, fountain and foodservice channels, the company said. It has worked with 7-Eleven before to offer Slurpee flavors like Jones Blue Bubblegum Slurpee.

Based in Seattle, Jones Soda markets and distributes premium beverages under the Jones Soda and Lemoncocco brands. Sold in glass bottles, Jones Soda is made with pure cane sugar, and its packaging incorporates customer photos.

Based in Irving, Texas, 7-Eleven Inc. operates, franchises or licenses more than 72,800 stores in 17 countries, including more than 9,500 in the United States.
