SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — The Alkaline Water Co. recently added two new direct-store delivery partners, C&M Sales, Franklin, Pa., and Alber & Leff Foods Co., Bridgeville, Pa., to cover the entire state of Arkansas and western Pennsylvania, respectively.

Alkaline88 now has direct-store delivery (DSD) coverage in 14 states as it continues to grow sales in the convenience and grocery channels, the company said.

“The addition of two great new DSD partners will help Alkaline88 continue to grow in important regional grocery chains as well as earn shelf space in more of the 150,000 convenience stores in the country,” said Frank Lazaran, president and CEO of the Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Alkaline Water Co. “In the past year, Alklaine88 has become a top-15 value-added water brand in the convenience channel.”

Alkaline88’s year-over-year sales growth rate in c-stores was nearly 11 times greater than that of the overall category and was the strongest of the other top-30 brands, according to Nielsen data for the year ending Nov. 8, Lazaran said.

“Great DSD partners, like C&M Sales and Alber & Leff, improve our store presence, keep us better stocked on shelves and give us access to thousands of new prospective retail locations including independent and small chain stores that we wouldn’t otherwise have,” he said. “As we continue to refine Alkaline88’s sales and distribution model, we will pursue additional DSD partnerships that align with our strategic growth goals.”

Alkaline88 is made with an 8.8pH balance and two ingredients: purified water and pink Himalayan rock salt. The brand was developed with a smooth taste that encourages consumers to drink more and fully hydrate, the company said. Alkaline88 was founded in 2012.
