BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Sweet, sugar-free or unsweetened.

Those are the options for convenience-store operators as Red Diamond Coffee & Tea expands its ready-to-drink (RTD) tea offerings in a new 11-oz. bottle to further round out its product line and fill size voids.

Available in 40-count cases, this size also is ideal for hospitals, assisted-living facilities and schools, Red Diamond said.

The 11-oz. bottle provides another way for customers to enjoy Red Diamond’s tea, the company said. Each new single-serve bottle is made from two or three ingredients: water, tea leaves and sugar or Splenda for the sweetened product. Red Diamond does not use concentrate or preservatives, it said.

The new size “will not only benefit our foodservice and retail partners by giving them a uniquely sized Red Diamond product, but will also give our consumers another way in which to enjoy our freshly brewed tea,” said Emily Wood Bowron, vice president of strategic marketing at Birmingham, Ala.-based Red Diamond. “Offering several bottle sizes allows us to expand our operator reach, plus, the new bottle size is the perfect solution for operations working with limited space that still want to provide a high-quality product.”

Red Diamond, which recently rolled out a watermelon-flavored iced tea, said its RTD tea is also available in gallons, half gallons and pints.

Red Diamond Coffee & Tea, founded in 1906, began as the family company Donovan Provision Co. but converted into a maker and provider of coffees and teas. William Donovan renamed the company Red Diamond in 1908.
