DES MOINES, Iowa —Convenience-store chain Yesway is bringing four new cannabidiol (CBD) packaged beverages to its stores: Kill Cliff, Defy, Weller and CBD Living Sparking Water.

The brands offer unique health benefits and help bring CBD to consumers in underserved markets, according to BettermentRS, a health and wellness company based in Des Moines, Iowa, that provides clients with sourcing and distribution of emerging brands.

Defy is a CBD performance beverage built for athletes. It is made with zero tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and allows users to reap muscle recovery and anti-inflammatory benefits of CBD without any psychoactive side effects, the company said.

Kill Cliff CBD is a hemp-infused recovery drink that delivers hydration, replenishment and the functional benefits of CBD, according to BettermentRS. It is made with B vitamins, electrolytes, green tea caffeine and plant extracts. Each 12-ounce can contains 25 milligrams of CBD.

Yesway is also bringing in two CBD-infused sparking waters from Weller and CBD Living. Weller’s water contains 25 milligrams of CBD and has zero calories, carbs and sugar. CBD Living Sparkling water is made with organic CBD extract and with vitamins and minerals for added health benefits, the company said.

“CBD is yet another example of Yesway’s continued dedication to introducing health and wellness products to our customers,” said Alan Adato, merchandising and procurement manager at Yesway. “Further, it is important to our social commitment to bringing health and wellness items, in a meaningful way, to areas that do not have easy access to these products.”

  • Yesway ranked No. 17 on CSP’s 2020 Top 202 ranking of largest c-store chains in the U.S. by number of retail outlets.

Fort Worth, Texas-based BW Gas & Convenience Holdings LLC, doing business as Yesway, announced in March it partnered with BettermentRS as a procurement and vetting partner for CBD products to help it navigate the quickly evolving category. The chain’s CBD offerings also include supplements, topicals, shots, confectionery and smoking products.
